In the dark months of winter I paint with color and lots of it. The work in Bloom is my winter survival. Poppies appeared on the canvas over and over again, and after a little research, I found that Poppies represent both life and death. It seemed very fitting to paint red poppies as my mother passed away last August and in November my first grandchild was born. A very happy Bloom indeed! -Kim Marcucci
